PRICING
Pricing your items can be tricky so here are some tips and thoughts to keep in mind.
*All items must be priced in increments of $1 with a minimum price of $2.00.
All items must be worth $2.00. If it is not, combine it with something else.
*Above all - PRICE TO SELL! There's nothing more rewarding than
cleaning out your closets and making money at the same time! Remember,
Bargain hunters are looking for a great deal so be reasonable with your
prices. A good asking price is normally 30% of the retail price.
*Let things go for HALF-PRICE! It is better to get 50% and clean out your
closets than to get items back that you don't need or want. If you choose to
mark your items to be sold for half price PLEASE do not overprice them to
compensate for the half price. We have more shoppers willing to pay full
price on the first day or two of the sale. Doing this will result in unsold items
for you.
*A good rule-of-thumb is to price your items at 25% to 30% of retail. This
varies according to the brand of your items and the condition they are in.
Pricing at consignment sales is most similar to resale or consignment shops'
pricing. Remember, only charge what you would pay for the item. The
success of your sale is based on whether you are fair or not! The cleanliness
and condition of your items are also very important.
*Outfits sell better than separates. Also, bundled sets sell great (example: 3-4
shirts or 2 shirts and a pair of shorts or pants). It is wise to create sets when
possible.
*Big ticket items sometimes sell better if you print out a description from
online stores to show how much it cost new.
